MICR Printer Security

• Secure Numeric Font - Our unique Source Technologies-designed font is very difficult to alter because of a special background and very small text & numeric print embedded in the amount line of the check
• Microprint Font - Extremely small type font is used to embed micro text and numbers within lines of print on the MICR document.
• Password Protection - Prevents access to check printing resources stored in MICR printers (signatures, MICR fonts, form overlays) without the proper password.
• DES Decryption - One of the highest levels of security available - All of Source Technologies' MICR printers are DES-enabled, allowing them to decrypt an encrypted print stream prior to printing (requires ST controlled-print software).
• Bi-Directional Communication - Alerts the user to any MICR problems through their payment software application. Also allows the user to query the MICR printer regarding settings. (Bi-directional communication is also supported in ST controlled-print software applications).
• Set-Copy Control - Ensures that a print job only prints once while in MICR mode- prevents fraud by disallowing the printing of multiple copies of a check.
• Auto Jam Recovery Disable - Automatically turns Jam recovery OFF when checks are being printed - prevents multiple copies of a check from being printed.

MICR Printer Quality

• ST Engineered E-13B and CMC7 Fonts - Designed specifically for use with ST MICR printers to produce highest achievable readability of MICR characters.
• MICRpoint - Ensures that MICR characters meet ANSI standards for MICR line placement on checks by allowing precise alignment when variances cannot be controlled in the print data stream.
• MICR Toner Sensing - Detects whether MICR toner or regular toner is installed in the MICR printer to prevent printing negotiable documents with regular toner.
• Auto Density Control - Senses toner level remaining in a cartridge and adjusts density to optimize MICR printer quality.
• Low Toner Warning and Auto Stop - Senses toner level remaining in a cartridge, warns user of a low condition, and automatically stops printing when toner reaches a level that could adversely impact MICR readability.
• Originally-Manufactured MICR Toner Cartridge - Toner formulation and cartridge design specific to each ST MICR printer engine ensures high print quality, excellent cartridge yield, and long fuser life.
• Optimized Fusing & Transfer Voltage - Automatically manages fusing temperature and transfer voltage to eliminate high-speed reader/sorter issues with MICR checks.
