Source Technologies and Its Employees Give for Tsunami
-Corporate donations spark employee giving-
CHARLOTTE, N.C., Jan 11, 2005 -Source Technologies, a leading provider of integrated solutions for managing financial transactions and other secure business processes, donated more than $10,000 to help children suffering as a result of the recent Tsunami in southern Asia.
A donation of $100 was made on behalf of each of Source Technologies' 96 employees. Soon after Busby announced his plan, several Source Technologies employees responded with personal donations, adding to the company's total gift.
"We are all moved by the scale of the suffering this disaster has caused, and by the resulting global outreach. I am grateful that Source Technologies has the resources to help."
Donations were made to Save the Children, a leading nonprofit humanitarian relief and development organization working in more than 40 countries throughout the developing world and the United States. Their mission is to create lasting, positive change in the lives of children in need and their families in developing countries by improving their health, education, and economic opportunities.
"A quick poll of our employees indicated a desire to do something for children, who are often vulnerable and exploited in that part of the world to begin with," said Miles Busby, founder and president, Source Technologies.
Save the Children has extensive operations in Aceh province in Indonesia, one of the hardest- hit areas. They are already delivering survival kits, health kits and family essentials. They are also working hard in Sri Lanka, where they were delivering food and reuniting children with their families within hours of the disaster.
"Our commitment to our community - local and global - is on-going. We are proud to work with Save the Children to bring relief to children suffering as a result of this terrible disaster," said Busby.
